Who are we?
We won’t delve into that existential quandary, but we’re Mary and Grant.

And we are terrible hikers.

Okay, let’s just say we’re not natural-born hikers. We wake up late, we don't always plan ahead, and we’re constantly hungry. Not the best combo for epic journeys.
​
But we’re also obsessed with the outdoors, exploring new places, and the utter majesty of the Pacific Northwest.
So most of our adventures are within an hour or two from Portland, not too strenuous, and not too long (because we’re hungry by that point and have already eaten all of our snacks!) They are, however, beautiful, fun, and unique.

We realized we were spending too much time hunting down new spots that were close enough, short enough, and still spectacular.
So we figured we’d make that resource ourselves and Hike Beast was born!

We hope our site can be a resource for other intrepid travelers who want to explore the wild Pacific Northwest - without having to wake up too early.
