Tualatin River

The Tualatin River is tranquil, quiet, and calm... except for the hungry ducks!

We like to enter the Tualatin River at Browns Ferry Park. There's a boat launch and you can rent kayaks at Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe.

The river is quite narrow here so you can check out both banks and all their plants and animals. We've watched bald eagles soar overhead and settle in the branches, herons fishing, and were nearly attacked by some hungry ducks! (They started out cute but the moment I got out my sandwich they wouldn't leave us alone - even trying to fly into my kayak to grab a bite!)

Since this part of the river is so calm, it's also a great place to fish, paddboard, or have a picnic on the water.

We traded in the snow and ice of the Midwest for the moss and mountains of the PNW. We wake up late, we're always hungry, and we hated spending more time researching hikes than actually hiking. So we made Hike Beast!
